This summer I spent a holiday week at Cres Island in Croatia. Cres and Krk are the biggest islands in Adriatic sea with the same dimensions: 405,8 square kilometers. Cres is a fantastic place to spend summer holidays because the water is really clean and crystal, there are high cliffs and a lot of secret bays.
We started from Verona to Krk to take the “Jadrolinija” ferry to Cres Island (Valbiska-Merag). We chose this instead of the other one (Porozina-Brestova) to avoid traffic from Istria region. The ticket cost is about 15-20 € if you have a similar car to our Peugeot 208. The crossing takes about 20-30 minutes.
We stayed in an apartment in the center of Cherso and we visited these awesome beaches: Mali Bok, Plaza Meli, Kruscica, Koromacna and Stara Porozina.

Unfortunately we could not visit Lubenice, considered one of the 15 most beautiful beaches in the world and Plava Grota another beach with a beautiful cave because the weather conditions didn’t promise anything good.
On the way back we took the ferry from Porozina to Brestova:
We chosed this ferry in order to cross the entire Istria and to be able to visit Rovinj. One of the most beautiful countries in this Croatian region.
Cinque Terre are one of the most beautiful and particular places in Italy. I have been there several times and I recommend you to go for a visit during spring season.
